DEVOTEE OF SRI RADHAKRISHNA

Meera Bai was a royal princess of Rajasthan. She was born in the KHUDKI kingdom of MARWAD in the fifteenth century.  But grown up in 'MEHERTA'. Her mother’s name was Veer Kumari and her father was Ratan Singh.

She was a Bhakti saint, poet, and devotee of Lord Krishna. She became a devotee of Lord Krishna from her childhood. She wrote many beautiful poems for Sri Krishna. She accepted Sri Krishna as her husband and believed that he will come and take her with him forever. There was only one person who understand her feeling towards Sri Krishna in her home, he was her grandfather Rao Dudaji. Her mother died when she was only seven years old.

She was married off to the Prince Bhoj Raj of CHHITOD at a very early age and suppressed to devote towards her domestic works rather than to Srikrishna. But she never forgot Sri Krishna and devoted herself more towards Sri Krishna. Except her husband Bhoj Raj, no one in her law’s house accepted her Bhakti Bhav towards Sri Krishna. When her life became impossible in her royal household she decided to left her house and went to VRINDAVAN. From there she lead the way to a  saint and devoted her life to Sri Krishna till her death. She was a royal princess but for Sri Krishna, she leaves her royal life and all comforts. At last, she got merged into Sri Krishna.
