DEVOTEE OF SRI RADHAKRISHNA

Karmabai was a Jat known as Bhakt Shiromani Karmabai. She was born in village Kalwa, Nagpur on 20 January 1615. She was a great devotee of Sri Krishna, also her father was a devotee of Sri Krishna. One day her father instructed her only to have food after offering to Sri Krishna as he was going to ‘Tirthayatra’. The next morning she cooked ‘KHICHDI’ and offered to Sri Krishna. But she saw that Sri Krishna was not eating the khichdi then she did not eat anything all day till SriKrishna had not eaten.

Impressed by her BHAKTI SriKrishna appeared and ate the Khichdi that was prepared by her. After that she continued to offer food to Lord Krishna before eating and Sri Krishna ate the food prepared by her till her father came to the home. When her father came back she explained the situation that occurred with her. But her father refused to believe her. She pleaded Sri Krishna to appeared to prove her Bhakti towards him. Lord Krishna appeared and proved her Bhakti.

After her father's death she went to different places for Tirthayatra. At last, she settled near PURI JAGGANATH MANDIR, ODISHA. Always after she offered Khichdi to Sri Krishna a little boy reached her house to ate Khichdi. Surprisingly the little boy was himself Sri Jagganath who ate Khichdi from her every day. At last, she became free from this ‘MRITYULOK’ in 1634 and got merged into Sri Krishna
